The Development Office works in conjunction with the Development Board to:

  • Conduct the Annual Appeal Campaign
  • Assist with any capital campaigns
  • Coordinate and assist with special events and fund raisers
  • Assist with the Annual Auction
  • Prepare and submit grant proposals to foundations and corporations
  • Coordinate a planned giving process
  • Seek endowment funding
  • Assist with long range planning
  • Maintain the database of donors, alumni, parents and others
  • Assist with public relations

Ways to Give

Annual Appeal

Joplin Area Catholic Schools conducts an Annual Appeal campaign beginning in the fall. Each year we ask all members of the JACS community—alumni, current families, alumni parents, parishioners, staff and friends—to support the journey of Catholic education in Joplin by making a tax deductible gift to the annual appeal. This necessary and important campaign is instrumental in helping to keep the cost of tuition and fees for our families affordable. The costs associated with this campaign are very low so JACS realizes more of your gift. Proceeds from the Annual Appeal benefit the tangible aspect of educating our students which we all witness as our students learn to read, realize a math concept, learn to live and love our faith and become productive members of our community.

Matching Gifts

JACS has been the recipient of Matching Gifts from companies all over the nation. Many companies match their employee's contributions to JACS. If you work for one, please contact your employers human resources office for the necessary form. The usual minimum gift is $25 in order to qualify for matching funds. Be sure to designate on the pledge card if you work for a matching company. All gifts stay at JACS. Every dollar goes directly into making a huge difference in achieving our vision of forming disciples of Christ and citizens prepared for tomorrow. Our success could not be without the combined efforts and prayers of all our community.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a way for you to make a larger gift than you thought possible to JACS. This may be as simple as remembering JACS in your will. There are also trusts and gifts of life insurance, property or stocks. Each vehicle has specific advantages and may be tailored to you needs. An endowment is money or other assets received by the school, often for a specific purpose. The principal is preserved and only the earnings and interest are used. Endowments, carefully managed for growth as well as income, are the foundation for the long-term stability and success of the schools. A named fund can become a permanent tribute to the person whose name it bears and may always be augmented. Donors to JACS are welcome to contribute any amount to an existing endowed grant simply by making their gift and indicating an endowed designation. New endowed gifts may also be created at any time under the guidance of the finance officers of our diocese, the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.

Tributes & Memorials

Gifts in honor of an alumni, parent, grandparent, student, friend or loved one can be made for special remembrances such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, new arrivals, graduation, holidays, new job, new home, religious observation, or special accomplishment.

Memorial gift funds can be established in memory of an alumni, parent, grandparent, student, friend, or loved one. Please designate Joplin Area Catholic Schools as the recipient of these gifts. Gifts received through this effort will be acknowledged to the donor. The family who established the fund will be notified of the donors.
