Planned Giving

67% of Americans do not have an estate plan. The top seven reasons are:

  • Haven’t gotten around to it

  • Not enough assets to leave anyone

  • Too expensive

  • Don’t know how

  • Don’t have anyone to leave assets to

  • Takes too long

  • Rather not think about it

A planned gift is one way to strategize for the future, manage your affairs, and make a gift to the Joplin Area Catholic Schools. It usually requires more thought and foresight than the average donation. Listed on this page are the most common types of planned gifts. Individuals who share planned gift intentions with us join the 1885 Legacy Society for Planned Giving. Planned gifts could provide tax advantages to you as the donor and may require the input of a financial advisor or attorney. Joplin Area Catholic Schools are not able to provide legal or financial advice. Please contact your advisors for help on any of them.
